It was recommended to me by one of my friends I should make a blog so I figured why not? I'm still very new to the "blogging" thing so this should be interesting.
My background:
I am a female in the Marine Reserves, I have been for just shy of 2 years now. I titled this blog "One Weekend A Month My A$$" Because Since Joining the Reserves I haven't been home for longer than about 2 months at a time. Everyone thinks in the Reserves you go through all your training then you get home, start college or a job (both?), and then do your manditory drills-"One weekend a month, two weeks in the summer" as they say. Well, that is the case for most people but that hasn't been the case for me...
I graduated high school in June 2007
Left for bootcamp July 9th 2007
Graduated Bootcamp October 5th 2007
Left for MCT after my "boot leave"
Graduated MCT November 6th 2007
Then went straight to MOS School
Graduated MOS School February 28th 2008
Checked into my reserve unit March 1st 2008
Completed 2 Drills
Did my AT (annual training aka "two weeks in the summer") in May 2008
Shiped off for ILOC (aka predeployment training) in Lejuene, NC in June 2008
We were in LeJuene, North Carolina from June until September 2008.
Left for Africa In September 2008 and Remained there until April 2009
I worked Active duty at Ft.Snelling, MN until I left for Cherry Point, NC on July 6th 2009.
Now here I am, In Virginia on my way to Cherry Point,NC so I can begin another deployment adventure.
This blog will get edited in the future I'm sure-this is just my boring "background" one anyways. I'm going to publish the emails that got me started on this blogging thing. These were just a couple "blog type emails" from before today.
